the main ten was a riff/jam that would become the basis for playin' in the band.

it actually refers to it's time signature, 10 beats per meter, like the 11

essentially everytime you hear playin' you are hearing the main ten riff

definitely NOT the way to kick off a huge party. That's more of second set song, when I saw the one at RCMH no-one was dancing. Imagine a full auditorium of people waiting to boogie and they open with that and leave everyone standing or sitting.
