Legalize it, in Colorado

CNN just shows some projections and it shows that pot will be legal. Is this for real. That would be huge. Wonder how that will all work. Anyone now how this will play out.
And I'm going to sit right here until I die

Yep, looks like recreational use and regulated sales, like alcohol, will be legal in both Colorado and Washington. Hope it spreads. It would seem likely that you guys in California would be next in line.

The way I've always heard it, states can vote to legalized but it's still subject to the national laws which, of course, still keep it illegal. Interesting to see how this plays out.

That's what confuses me. How can you put this on a ballot then. I don't get it.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see what kind of direction the DEA gets on this from Justice and the White House. I hope this is an example of where having a second term president in office will come in handy. He's got no reason to want to look tough on drugs.

I think mostly it just demonstrates that on a national level, the view on weed is genuinely changing. If enough states vote for legalization, then it ultimately has to become a national issue.

The federal gov't. generally doesn't go after casual users. And they already have a dispensary system in place. So, this may work.
I hope it does, because it will bode well for the rest of the country to eventually follow suit.

I'm wondering how it will be distributed- dispensaries + 21 and over weed cafes? Could definitely see those popping up in ski country. Lots of home bases for GD cover bands in the near future... Also heard tonight that Colorado folks will be able to hold (what they consider a small amount)- up to an ounce at a time, legally. Big $$ in tax revenue for the state also.
