Today was much better. The lunch mouse corpse was left on the front steps, instead of inside next to my chair.

I found their entry and dosed it with peppermint.

try this -- mix equal parts bakers flour and quikcrete cement mix in a low rimmed dish and set another low rimmed dish filled with water next to it , problem solved !

You've got a bigger problem, they must be in the cellar or have a nest somewhere.

You need to do more than one trap. Like clean out the cellar, put poison around etc
