Quoting Pigpen is s sure way to get some good lovin from FF67.

I luv Bob, however the best Good Lovin's were sung by Mr. Pen. The verbal improvisation from the Princton University show on 4/19/71 has the quintessential Pigpen rap. Let me just add that we all need it and that it is all we really need!

I looked in Deadbase. Chester you are right. The Princeton show I was talking about was 4/17/71. Just to be sure, I looked at my CD (remember those) collection. My CD is labled 4/17/71 from Dillon Gym, Princeton U, PA. I took the 4/19 date from the book Playin In the Band (their fault, not mine - lol), which printed out Pigpens entire rap from that show. Pig did raps during both Lovelight and Good Lovin. The one from 4/17 is special. Pig speaks about meeting a bidness man. He asks him "What kind of merchadise you got... You got dope? Are you in the automobile bidness? Do you fix refrigerators? Do you fix windows? Are you a plumber? He sais 'no man. I got myself a Cadillac." The bidness man end up selling Pigpen the Brooklyn Bridge.
Like a lot of folks out here, I luv the jams and instrumental improvisation. Pinpen's vocal improvs are also all there then some.
