I'm hundreds of miles inland, and I'm still facing widespread power outages, sustained winds of 30+.
Gusts exceeding 50. This is a ridiculously powerful storm. And a giant pain in the rear. Not what we
needed right now. Even without the storm damage, the cost of shutting down the entire north east
is going to be enormous. Manhattan will be closed at 7pm! Airports will close. Schools and business's
will close. And nobody knows for sure, how long. The uncertainty also adds an extra burden of stress.

I'm in Manhattan and the streets are eerily quiet right now. The supermarket looked like the "Fall of Saigon" today.

I am pouring myself a glass of of organic sulfite free syrah and watching the second season of AMC's The Killing which is a 'knock-off' of a Danish TV Show. It is appropriately gloomy and noir-ish. Good Storm viewing fare.

Right now, outside of Philly, it's just raining lightly. Earlier, though, it was coming down pretty hard. Plenty of shortages in the local stores. Can't find a D battery to save your life. Already playing it safe. Had a ticket to see Rodreguez in Philly tonight and I decided to stay home. It's a long drive and according to the news, there's already some trees down in the city.

Not sure what to expect but the wife and I are pretty much assuming we'll be without power for an extended period.

wind already picking up here in Albany , I am at work right now but I think they might be shutting us all down at noon ..... stay safe everyone .
