Yup. The male Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are back to set up territories along the shores of Lake Champlain! The females will be along soon I'm sure. It's amazing they migrate all the way to the Rainforest in Brazil and back each year. Nature is incredible!

These two pictures were taken through a window and screen so they are not very sharp... but you can still see the iridescent Ruby-throat!

Hummingbirds are magical, it is as if they are in a class with leprechauns and faries.

I saw one once and I did not know what I was seeing at the time. It was at twilight and it was feeding on a flower. It seemed stationery but it was whirring like a dynamo at the same time.

I can imagine your excitement with the sighting and THANKS for the pictures.
