Classic Albums. Grateful Dead. Anthem to Beauty

#186050 9 months, 1 week ago
Well I just saw this on net flix tonight. I have never send before on net flix or anywhere else. It was such a treat to watch. A lot of old footage. Footage of the boys hitting the nitrous in the studio, Phil shedding a tear. Showing how they mixed tracks. A lot of Robert hunter footage, Dan Healy footage. Just great stuff. I learned some stuff tonight that I either forgot or didn't know. I actually got choked up myself a few time. If you have net flix check it out.
And I'm going to sit right here until I die

I looked it up after I saw this post and I thought it was fantastic! It put a big ol' grin on my face. I appreciate the end of Sugar Magnolia even more than I previously did, due to the miracle of bobby reading through it the first time despite his dyslexia.

I have this on DVD. Got it years ago mostly to have that great old footage in my collection. Always a good watch.

Of course this is great viewing. The emphasis is on the studio albums. So my only issue was not enough on Live/Dead
which we all know to be one of the greatest albums EVER.

most of those classic albums are great views. I like when they go into the studio and break down the tracks and isolate parts. I'd love to have access to all the tracking. Fleetwood Mac's Rumours is a great one; Buckingham's tens of guitar tracks are great to hear isolated from the songs we now know. Hell, I've never seen one I didn't enjoy. AC/DC - Back in Black is a bit lame, but it is still fun.
