Sorry man, I have no choice but to boo this thread. I'm tired of arrogant Phish kids taking it upon themselves to argue with me every time I end up telling them I'm not into phish. Really when it comes down to it there's absolutely no point in arguing or debating frequencies. The vibes and frequiences Phish makes just doesn't make my mind or body do anything, the Dead do. They're both way different from each other. If it's the other way around for anyone, great for them.

It's a waste of time and energy, not to mention incredibly trivial, and more often than not people get incredibly passive about it.

That said, for me, it's not a matter of musicianship for either band, but the soul they put into the music. I'll leave it at that.

I like the music Phish puts out but I am NOT a fan of going to a Phish show..Different vibe. The Dead do it for me...A Phish show reminds me of a college party...I'd prefer to just listen to them from a CD then ever go to another show

Phish doesn't do a thing for me. Besides that, in the whole history of the Grateful Dead the band has been filled with great musicians, every one. I like my music solid rock n roll. Phishheads are welcome to like Phish more, but that'll never make them the better band.

I prefer the Dead and always will. I like Phish and they are great musicians, but their lyrics are silly and they don't give me the same feeling. But, the fans can mix. Here in Miami when Phish played NYE shows a couple of years ago, Furthur was just starting. A lot of the people on the lot were selling more Dead stuff, and listening to more Dead than Phish. I mentioned to some of them that I preferred the Dead and told me that they all do, but you take what you can get. And, many of them were waiting for Furthur's first tour to start, which just happened to begin in Miami.
