So i have seen Furthur play the golden road 3 times now and i can honestly say its not good. They come in with the same crappy intro every time and its just bad. Anyone disagree?

+1 on disagreeing
I wouldn't mind if they jammed into it sometime or streched it out but I wouldn't say that it's not good or call it a crappy intro cause its the same. I enjoyed it each of the few times I've seen them do it.-

I've only heard Furthur play it from streams i've listened to.
I saw the Dead with Jimmy H. do it and it sounded great.
the song really wasn't written as a jamming song it doesn't open up the way other dead songs do.
they ( the Dead ) didn't play it more than a few times in '67 and dropped it for the rest of their career after that.
I think PL&F's brought it back first.-

I LOVE the Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion. It can completely transform a room! This was really clear on this last New Year's Eve. It's one of the songs that I am the most happy they brought back after an incredibly long hiatus.-

I don't think the GD played it after about 1967, so I don't know what you fussin' bout.
I think it kicks off a show in a dandy partying style.
I would agree that played too much it would lose its sparkle. But don't we all?-

Its a good tune. Just doesn't need to be overplayed. Seen it 2x both were good. I don't wish for it before a show. -
