You know, the outdoor arena at Harvey's would be a great summer spot for Furthur. Just sayin'.

The gorge is a breathtaking venue. What's the place in Tahoe Like, i mean where exactly, the capacity, the attitude of the locals, etc? Tahoe is closer.-

I believe the capacity is 7K. Its right next to the lake but you see trees instead of the lake. Not as beauteous as the gorge, but you can see lots trees and mtns and stuff, and for those staying in the hotels surrounding, of course, views are astounding. Lots of rooms in walking distance. We got fat fat room for under a hundred, which, since we were coming off a week of backcountry camping, was swell. One of the few places you can walk INTO the venue with a fresh cocktail, it was quite the jolly place. And from what I have heard of such bands as Panic and Moe playing up there, good times are had.
the only downside is that its pavement and not grass, with bleachers around the side. I think they can do chairs, although they didn't when I went.
There is an even sweller ampitheater farther from the lake called Truckee Park Regional Ampitheater, but the capacity if probably half of Harveys. There's one small campground nearby but otherwise everyone would have to drive to lodging (unless they let you camp in the lot, which I doubt).Attachments:-

I was able to click on the pic for a better view. It's not the gorge, but still looks very pretty. I would go there to see Furthur. Are they friendly folks, the operators?-

That is pretty too! At any rate, I am very happy about Furthur and I'm hoping to see them in the Tahoe area and Northern California, etc. in Sept.,etc... -
