Lack of acceleration and poor gas mileage sounds exactly like a fuel filter, Lots of people don't realise that Fuel filters should be replaced everytime you change the oil, After all they do get their fair share of utilization.

We might have picked up some dirt in the tank at some shifty desert gas station

somewhere in elko NV LOL, remember the motel we stayed at? yipes. we should have known how much more sketchy the room in joliet IL was going to be. coincidentally, that was right around the corner from where my fuel pump went out on the way home from broomfield 2011 furthur.

<===ASE certified mechanic. Before you go crazy and spend a ton of money, change the oil(filter included), fuel filter, and air filter (remember you get what you pay for). if you dont notice a difference than you may have some more investigating and costs on your hands....

^^^did you read the title bro?? LOL

it's a 98 legacy outback...

just got the word..they didn't find anything major but the spark plugs, cylinder wires/ignition coils/and some other things all need to be replaced. with parts and labor they want around 400+ tax. if i knew more about cars i'd do some of the stuff myself but i don't, so i'm at their mercy. being at 227,000, will this help her go for a while longer??
