Re: Things to do in San Fran#124971 2 years, 7 months agoAs a NY'er my favorite memories are riding the trolly, the seals / sea lions near fisherman's wharf, walking around Haight-Ashbury (a few cool shops(, walking around Golden Gate park a bit. Alcatraz was ok. I was surprised but I was wowed by some Japanese gardens too. I think the gardens were close to or inside Golden Gate Park, and I'm pretty sure they are free to visit. Meir (sp?) Woods was also really nice, not too far away.
Oh, and we saw a show with some whacky hats that was pretty good. (we saw the kid friendlier show)
I spent 3 days there but I had some younger kids with us so we did more family stuff. My daughter loved the house that was filmed for the opening credits of "full house".
And I enjoyed driving around the hills, inluding that crazy zig zag street.
Note, these were really touristy things we did.FFF! Family is Forever!!!
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you

Re: Things to do in San Fran#124977 2 years, 7 months agoi really liked alcatraz, (although I could see that it would be boring for kids.) but make sure you book your tickets as soon as possible as they do sell out.
the japanese gardens in golden gate park was nice, but when we went last summer, it cost $7 to get in.
if you are into art, the sfmoma is fantastic. The Sailor, coming out again, the lady fairly leapt at him.
That's how it stands today. You decide if he was wise.
