I making pico de gallo for a appetizer. I hate buying salsa at stores. I like making it fresh. And in the morning my wife is going to make chicken tortilla soup. She puts all the stuff in a crock pot, and it's delicious. No fried food this weekend. I need lose about 6 pounds.

I'm with you, I'm eating healthy.

Not knocking the fattening foods, if you can, go for it. We all know that stuff tastes great.

Absolutely, love fatty food. Just have been eating too much of it.

We aren't doing any entertaining, so I'm gonna try a crockpot chicken and dumplings recipe I saw this week. Sounds real easy, let the chicken breast cook with a can of cream of chicken and some other ingredients for a few hours, then drop in some pillsbury biscuit mix for another 90 minutes.

We've had some brats hanging around since the holidays (don't worry, still good) so I might make them for lunch with some chicken taco soup I'm about to make now.

Being an Eagles fan, I have little enthusiasm for this matchup, although it will probably be a good game.

I need to learn how to make guacamole. I love that stuff.

I'm using a new ingredient in the chili. I have been asking friends and looking online for some chili competition type stuff to improve my batches.

This time I'm using dark chocolate. The darker the better, 85% cocoa. I've heard of that before, but now I'm finally going to try it.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

^^^Definitely report back, that sounds good, sort of mole-like!

And guac couldn't be easier as long as your avacados are good, and you put lemon juice on them immediately after cutting so they don't go brown. Just smash up the avacado with a fork, add some lemon, fine chopped tomato and onion, that's the basic stuff. Then take off from there with garlic, peppers, cilantro, whatever floats your boat. Good stuff!
