The eagle parents have chosen the new nest. And mom has laid an unknown number of eggs. And they are incubating.



We will have limited info for the near future, but should have a few photo's of the young ones by mid april. (Hopefully)
Unfortunately, only from a distance. But at least we know they are doing well.

Here's a bald eagle webcam looking at a nest on Santa Catalina island, off Southern California. It's currently got three eggs, and a lovely view of the ocean.

Yeah, there are other webcam's. I get notifications from Raptor Resource Project about some of their other projects.

There has been some movement on the Decorah eagle nest. They may be farther along with incubation than was previously thought.
I still get updates, and will pass them along.

Well, there's definitely two baby eagles. So far. I guess they would be D15 and D16.
As soon as I can post some video's or photo's, I will.

~ April 3, 2013, Happy 2nd Birthday to D1 ~

Two years ago today, people around the world watched a live stream,
they waited and waited, most anxiously to see,
that first glimpse of a tiny bald eagle hatching from its shell,
in a nest 80 feet high in a cottonwood tree.

D1 continues to fly with the the hearts of followers from all over the world on her wings,
who continue to marvel at her wonderful and incredible journey thus far.
She is majestic and regal as she flies high in the skies above all of us,
and aside from being special to all as D1, she's known now as our beautiful eagle-star.

Aw, at least we get glimpses of them, even if we can't watch the whole show. Thanks much for the updates!!

There are 3!

~ Now Appearing, THREE 2013 Decorah Eaglets ~

D17 is on the left between Mom and the other two, D15 is the tall one toward the right, and is in the back (you can see the upper part of its dark eye mask), and D16 is right in front of D15 covering the rest of D15's face. Congratulations Mom and Dad Decorah, job well done!

Aw, way to go eagles!! I sure hope they can get a camera in that nest for next year.

Cool! With 3 young'uns to feed, somebody is gonna be doing a lot of fishing. Let's hope they can get all 3 to fledge. Been watching 2 juvy baldies (along with several adults) lately on my local lake (Falls Lake NC). They are probably 3 years old now; the full white head/tail expresses around 4 or 5 years of age. They are really majestic birds in person!
