I guess technically, D14 only branched yesterday. But D14 fledge has been confirmed today!

Great pictures! It's been so cool seeing them all on the branch the last two days.

Looks like the end of the webcasts is approaching. Now with the eaglets fully fledged, and spending less time in the nest,
RPP will begin to prepare for the off season, and plan for next year. This is a quote from their page;

"The Raptor Resource Project will be turning off our Decorah eagle cam, moderated chat, and social stream at 8:00pm on June 30th, 2012.

The eaglets will have fledged and will be spending less time on the nest. We'll use the off season to test and install new cameras, computers, and audio equipment for the 2013 nesting season, build and deploy peregrine and kestrel nest boxes, and begin our pilot kestrel program.

Not much action in the nest these days. Most of the young eagles time is spent on the branches, and of course, flying.

From the Decorah Eagles FaceBook page;

"We have received numerous requests for some of the merchandise to feature the 2012 Decorah Eagle family, and in an effort to please everyone, we have now made those items available. Breaking news. D14 has been banded, and fitted with a transmitter. Kinda torn on the need for this. But I know it's
important, and I knew they were going to do it.

I'm all for the transmitters in the interest of science. These people obviously care about the animals so I trust their judgement.

Does anyone know how large, or small they are ? The "little ones" in that last picture appear NYC pigeon size to me but I suspect the camera's make they appear smaller than they really are.

Well, that nest is really large. So, it's hard to tell exactly, but they must be 80% of full grown, if not more.
Definitely bigger than a pigeon.
