This is called "wingercising". Or exercising their wings.

I can't come down, it's plain to see.

It's been awhile since I've posted an update. D15, 16, and 17 are still doing well. They are almost full size now,
but will still have dark feathers for some time. Today, D16 fledged. (To fledge is to take a first flight.) I'm not
sure of the status of D16's siblings, but they are all probably at, or near the same stage of development.
It wont be long now, before they leave the nest for good, and begin their own lives.

Sorry, I can't post any photo's.

Tomorrow is national eagle day!

I also hope they return to the old nest next year. That's more fun.

An update, D15 fledged on 6/23. D17 fledged on 6/26. And yes, there are plans to put a camera on the new nest
in the off season. And, they will keep the current cameras at the old nest, so we should have a better chance of
seeing the nest next year, whichever one they choose.

As you can see, the old nest will need some "fixing up", as mom and dad have been busy with the new family.

D15, D17, and mom. They're watching D16 do a solo.

Here comes D16 in for a landing.

Photos were taken on 6/22.

Some great shots of D16, one of the new Decorah Eagles, checking out last years nest.
Which is only about 50 yards away from the new one.
