Here's what Dead Project thinks. Some of those offered above are included.
This sight is fun and interesting, but I take serious issue with the contention that almost nothing good came after 1978. Depending on the song, most TOP versions are pre-1977. If you* cannot find TOP versions of those songs in the 1980s and 1990s then you simply are not listening to enough from that era, and thus, limiting yourself in a big way.
But I guess that is a debate worthy of its own thread.
*(Not YOU specifically, but in general, mind you).
This really isn't accurate. Leaving out Dark Star & Other One as having lists for those songs featuring post 78 material are the ones that should be ignored and Eleven(No post-78), Love Light(No worthy post-78), Lost Sailor> Saint(No pre-79), & Here Comes Sunshine(All best in 1973)...leaving them out there are 15 "best of xxxx" projects, with a top 10 & 5 honorable mentions in each. That's 225 total song versions 91/225(40.4.%) are from 1979-1995, 113/225(50.2%) are from 1978-1995. Additionally, their Top 100 Shows off the Beaten Path project is broken down into time periods with 20 from 79-86, 15 from 87-90, and 10 from 91-95...making 45/100 from 79-95. There can't be anyone who would seriously suggest 65-78 doesn't warrant at least 55/100 on a top 100 list.
