Happy Birthday Bear! Thanks for everything.

PS - I just loved the album Bears Choice (best of the GD). I hope Bobby will consider playing some of it when we see him playing solo.

Happy Birthday Owsley. Thanks for all your work with the Dead, bringing us the best sound possible.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

Thanks for everything, Bear. In many ways he was the founder of the feast.

A quick check on Dead lists, doesn't have anything listed for this date, from 65 to 95.
I guess they always took time off in late Jan.

Happy Birthday, Bear! Hope you're enjoying the steaks wherever you are!

Nothing on 1/19, but how about Furthur at Best Buy on 3/13/2011, with a nice dedication to Bear from Phil. I think it's a good memory, not sad!

Yes, January was often more of a rest month, especially with the big NYE runs. However, there were quite a few january shows and some right before and after the 19th. I suspect something else was going on. Maybe big birthday bashes/trips that rulled out playing gigs.
