Just got home from work to see the good news! Let us tolerate the sore losers out there (knowing we could have been sore losers had Obama lost) with grace and dignity because the only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.

Im so glad that the election went the way it did, i was petrified of what mitt would have done to set us back. now its off to see Phil im thinking he will be in a good mood and maybe play us something special.

Well, 50+ percent of the nation utters a collective "whew, that was close!". Time to move on. Hopefully, the Republicant extremists will realize that the nation does not want their "vision" for the country...

One thing that seems like an obvious takeaway from this election: The republican party is the party of old, white people (mostly white men) and their numbers are less and less every election. Not saying it's a good thing to have party division on racial lines but the fact is the republican party is now irrelevant. Toast. Done.

The final red/blue map isn't surprising, but it bothers me. Weird that the South is still a solid block of red.

The South voted as solidly Democratic before Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 as it now does Republican. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why the shift. Despite all our “racial progress.”

As a life-long resident of a southern state that went for Obama in 08 and has severely regressed since, I can only conclude that we must be getting the intellectual rejects from the other states.
