I used to have ideals in voting for president, or even ideas. Regardless of how far from the dream he seems to have been, he has done allot. Of course one would have to go beyond the main stream media to have any kind of understanding of the progress he has made with the mess he was left and in policies towards social and economic policies. I have no idea of how the whole lobbying crap goes or what to do with a sinking ship. But I'm sure it sucks ass, and that is not a good thing, IMHO. If there is a Republican "elected" I will wish Obama had made it. Guaranteed; the majority of people in this country, know it or not, are in the same boat.

The situation does seem significantly different, this time around.

How about Trey and Joan with the core four. I don't see that happening, but it would be nice if it did. As for politics. Whatever issues one may have with our current president, things could be a whole lot worse. They will be if Mitt lands the post. Just my humble opinion. Bruce and Branford would also fit into this 2012 Dream Dead band nicely!

My loss of faith is not so much in one candidate as it is in the system itself. But for what it is worth, while billions of people are starving in this world I don't need voting advice from someone who drives a ferrari.....

So here we are at the Furthur site, discussing politics. Since we are tossing out ideas about music and politics, it's late (and the darkness of the moon besides); a singer songwriter named Phil Ochs wrote a song about John F Kennedy called Crucifixion. Two verses fit into this discussion (for me) so I thought I would share:

That's the problem with politics as they are. Whoever is president, they have to pander to certain interests...and as the old

saying goes...you can't please everyone. We need to get the money OUT of politics.
