Ash Ra Tempel 74-12-06.aud.Paris.flac (same show as the infamous Paris Downers boot but possibly a different source)

For my money, Ash Ra Tempel is one of the best floating, psychedelic, improvisational groups of all time. No vocals. No melodies. Pure cosmic bliss at 15-30 minute clips. Manuel Gottsching is no great guitar player, but he is a great spacial mind. His keyboard and guitar creations are beautiful and existential (seriously, no hyperbole). If you've ever heard the powerful BF Trike song "Be Free", this is what they were seeking to find. 4 tracks in 80 minutes. Someone on the Dime tracker broke out 5 rare recordings this past month. This is one of them.

You aren't interesting or clever when you write or speak in the lyrics of others. Rather, what are YOUR words?

Man, that sure has been one of my favs since...............1982!!!! LOL. I only kept two tapes from my collection, the '68 show with all the talking and this one.

Currently listening to a very tasty board from 7/16/76 Orpheum Theatre.

This popped up while I was listening to something else...of course I had to cue it up and now I am here going to have to listen to it all LOL.

The sound is good and I got that show is gonna start feeling standing out there in the sun. So grateful to have had the experience so I can understand for real.

Jerry looked amazing in 89. And Brent is filling up the place with his vocals. It is so beautiful. I would liken his harmonies to rival Lennon and McCartney's in uniqueness and quality...maybe that sounds crazy but I think it took Midland years to really start to reach his potential in the band and then there was very little time before his death. And I consider his death the beginning of the end of Garcia and the Dead...it's hard to say what would have happened had that event not happened.

89 was a great year for the Dead for sure.

...was staring at the little blotch of sunshine with a special intensity, considering lying down in it.
