Recording from a stream?

#104351 2 years, 8 months ago
I will probably not be able to listen to NYE on Sirius when it's broadcast live as we are throwing a party and I will be the only deadhead there.

Does anybody know a way to record the stream off Sirius? I know it can be done, I'm just not sure the best way.

I've used Audacity before, a free, open source program that I understand captures the sound going to your speakers and essentially converts it to an MP3. I'd love to find something capable of capturing a digital stream as the quality should be better.

why bother mucking around with that? wait one or two days and several, nice quality FLAC AUD recordings will be available on Archive.org.

That's how it stands today. You decide if he was wise.

It will be replayed 3 times. Catch it then.

Or if you want to get old school like us, you can just run a cord from the PC headphone output to the stereo's CD burner and record it that way. Who needs files!

Too lazy to look myself -- what are the replay dates/times?

The other suggestions people have are probably better, but I know their used to be an application called Wiretap, that records any audio happening on your computer. I don't no if its around anymore.

Yeah, they always replay it. If you can't catch it live, it really doesn't matter when you hear it, right?
So, either a replay, which will be within the first week, or it'll pop up on etree or someplace like that.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
