Rockinbob,

I am also staying in your area (Stanford Court) for the NYE run. In June I would make the trip to Ritual Coffee in the Mission. They are close to the top of the game in artisanal (if you can call it that) coffee. Pour over individual coffees and great espresso drinks. I found a great place at home in CT about 2 years ago and can only go to Starbucks in an emergency.

Ritual is close to Tartine Bakery which is a destination spot anyway. Blue Bottle coffee is also very good and they have mutliple locations in SF. Had not found anything in Nob Hill but there may me something around.

Thanks to everyone else for the recommendaitons.

I am already planning my visit to Tilden Park and Mt. Tam and hopefully Reyes Point also.

All you SF locals are very fortunate!

Mt. Tam is a great place to spend the day. So is Muir Woods. And if you have a car take a drive down Hwy 1, just south of Pacifica and check out the tide pools.
