Great job Jen. You have inspired me to do better at finding opportunities to give. Thank you. Most people would not have gone the lengths you did for this child.
Loved the mystery poster.

Bravo Starlite. Long long story short I put it up here last Friday. Stopped on the way home from work and a five yr old kid with no shoes or coat asked me to help find his Mommy. I asked the store to call 911 but they refused so I did. Then one of the employees ran out of the store. I stayed with the boy and waited about 15 minutes later this crack head chick shows up (the mother) and starts screaming at the 5 yr old. I stepped in and nearly had an altercation. (short version this boy was walking up to strangers asking for help finding his Mommy and she was nowhere to be found)...anyway I spoke with this cop who said he had found the kid wandering around town square all alone before and that there was an open case against her and he would report it to DHHR.. (child services & welfare). I was really really upset. I came home a mess worried about this kid all weekend. Incidentally ( and not important in the big picture) when I got online here and a dude named Kevin started attacking me I started crying again. What is wrong with people? That is when my now banned evil husband started the thread lookiing for who Kevin was ( maybe not appropriate especially out of context but he was just defending me). Anyway I followed up with DHHr on Monday and guess what? The cop had never called ... spoke with several people there who were to put it mildly VERY upset with the situation as they should have been. Now that they got involved the cop who failed to do anything calls me at work yesterday and says they are pressing chiid neglect charges against her. Evidently he did a lil investigation and found out this mother was basically using the 7 eleven as a babysitting service. What really blows my mind is I went online and there are 7 child sex offenders within 2 miles of that 7 eleven. So to finish I had to go make my statement at the station today and put it all on paper. I don't like to get people in trouble but what could have happened to this child is still depressing me... and that people knew but did nothing. The cop said their will be a prelimanary hearing ( oh I failed to mention a Marine SGT witnessed all of it and gave me his number as a witness if my story needed corroborated-- as it turns out its all on video) which he said I didn't need to attend but I will. IF there own mother doesn't look out for this child someone needs to.

Proud of you, you were in a lose / lose situation in a way, but you did what any nurturing parent would do, what is best for the child. I'm glad the cops did their part.

As WITS said on an earlier post, who cares what others think? EZ to say, harder to do, but try not to let other peoples hate get to you. Out of the blue (sort of) last night I felt I needed to hear a morning dew. "There's no need for you to be worried bout all those people (the haters) - you never see those people anyway".

Sooo..... we will get to listen to new years on the radio, but some pictures or more cool stories about naked crackheads would be more than welcome.

Have a safe trip (everyone) and I hope you have the time of your life.

And now scar1let has me singing "Time of Your Life" from Dirty Dancing.

Here's some honesty: i am sickly sad. I mean the really bad kind. The kind that hurts the body and the body has it's share of stuff anyway. Nothing I have tried today has relieved it. Including finishing up the loose ends on my giving project for tomorrow. pro-active as usual and knew this year would be the hardest but this is bad. probably because there have been too many of these kinds of holidaze. and it DOES matter what others are walking through or who is needy and poor but I am just too too broken for much too too long.
no support system in human form can kill a person.
And I do not medicate. Never really did excpet in medium party mode. Last drink was last month. 8 months before that. 2 years before that. Hate green. Always did. A margarita would help but I would have to leave the apt.
(((kind posters)))
I just want a real hug from someone who knows me. Knows me.

Well put Scar/Fire. I can tell you a when a night starts with WITS you never know how its gonna end its just keeps gettin Stranger. He told me when we first met "I don't know why but the craziest strangest shit always happens to me you wait and see." We've know each other 5 years and just a few without all the details:
1. Met Bobby Twice. Hung out with him. Coughed a lil on the streets of NYC with Kenny, Hippie Bill, Jay Lane.
2. Ended up in a multi million dollar penthouse suite in Manhatten... and it turns out our new friend i( and his 2 ladies) is a porn star.
3. When getting ready to leave the bar next to the tower we are getting ready to call a cab, A guy we were chatting with who was a friend of a good friend of ours says "You don't need to get a cab I got my limo & driver waitin around the corner"...and OMG shit he did!!!!!!!!!! Which led to more massive partying.
4. Scar/Fire you obviously read our red rox thread and how we ended up at this famous house.

There's tons more... and WITS had 26 yrs of show attendance before I met him ..and tons of crazy as shit stories. He was right. Can't wait to see what stories we bring home from the NYE run. Excitement level going way up!!! ( I keep badgering him to write a book)

If any out there wants to do something real ez and enexspensive that will have an immediate impact on a child's life check out Edenrose..org This is a nonprofit ( with quite a few heads involved) that work with women and children in Ecuador to help provide them with a better life. The work they do is selfless and at the least inspiring. My pin company has helped them raise $200 in the last couple of days which will provide 40 children with some sort of Christmas. They still need a lot of help and for as little as $5 u can impact a child's life.

My wife is from Ecuador and I've been down there a couple of times. Beautiful country, but where we go in cuenca is very high altitude. I've driven and hiked in the 'cajas' in the majestic Andes mountains. Up in the clouds. Breathtaking, especially the stars at night.

In the middle of nowhere the native indigenous families live in mud huts that are heated by a fire inside. Very small living quarters. I've watched them wash their clothes in the rivers with rocks several times. The women carry their babies in cloth sacks hanging off their backs. These are real 'living off the land people' without much to their name. They all wear very trippy Guatemalan clothes and very cool panama hats ( which are hand woven in Ecuador).

I've purchased several bracelets from the group you mention on the lot a couple of times. They do charge extra but the goods are really nice and they are being made in ecuador by the women who they are trying to help. The Ecuadorian women weaving are paid a fair amount for their work. I'm pretty sure they said the extra $ is used to provide help in Ecuador. I assume this is the same organization -

Starlite - I have never been to any gathering of the tribes where i have not found a reason to grin my silly grin. There are plenty of coverbands out there - with plenty of kind people that follow them. There are plenty of places non gd places to meet people. Mix it up! Make it your New Years resolution. "don't tell me this town ain't got no heart. You just gotta poke around"

Edit: almost forgot to send you <<<<good vibes>>>>
