You could start the trip, and just plan a hotel stop somwhere an hour down the road. At least it puts you in the right direction.

Albany is a bit of a drive from NYC. I would probably suggest somewhere around Poughkeepsie, if you can make it that far.
Albany is about a two hour drive from Syracuse. Poughkeepsie is about an hour south of Albany. Give or take. Just be
careful, and don't drive exhausted.

There were beaches there? I didn't realize but I honestly would have passed anyway. We have lots of beaches by me, Jones beach, Sunken Ghetto (Meadow) and my town has private beaches on both the north and south shores of Long Island. In fact there are so many I rarely go there anymore.

When I go to the beaches in NJ it's usually for fishing. I don't want to run into Snookie or her pals anyway. They are just too awesome for me (NOT).

Thank you all. Makes a lot of sense to look for a hotel starting in the Poughkeepsie (sp) area and adjust a bit if the price is kinder a little north, south, east and west. I might even be able to push all the way to Syracuse, but there is no need for me to push it. I much rather be safe than sorry.

I don't think I could get too exhausted to drive a few hours + even after MSG. I can never sleep the night before a show anyway, even if they are back to back to back ........

They're not the best at what they do, they are the only ones who do what they do. And that's a fact, Jack.
