Hey, I can't believe there aren't more folks around who want to freeze in the winter, roast in the summer and rarely drive less than 6 hours to a show! Don't they realize that there's no better place to live? I certainly wouldn't be anywhere else. It would be nice if the band would come visit more often though!
Hi! I'm lucky enough to be tucked into a relatively liberal area of our lovely Midwest, in Michigan. Lived here my whole life, and can't imagine leaving the four seasons. I'm guessing Minnesota from the "North Star" reference?
No dispensaries, just a "caregiver" system, with licensed growers assigned to up to 12 state-approved people they can legally distribute to. It's sure become a growing industry around here (pardon the bad pun), but there's some runblings that the newly-elected conservative legislature is going to try and make things harder for everyone. Heaven forbid people use natural remedies when they could be throwing money at the big pharmaceutical companies!
I grew up in WI and hold it near and dear to my heart. Though I currently live in sunny southern CA, I have played with the notion of moving back to the heartland (or in my case, literally, Hartland ... a small town).
It is tough sledding in the Midwest though, at least when it comes to seeing Furthur.
