Landing in SF at 10am on Sat the 29th... staying at the tomo hotel which is about a 1.5 mile walk to venue.... where are most people going to be hanging out at... What are some good local watering holes/places to eat... never been to san fran before and would love to be placed in the right directions...

buddha lounge grant & jackson.....great jukebox with a few GD albumins, dicing for drinks with the bartender, the infamous snake venom cocktail, a bathroom like a dungeon......the WC is adjacent to the store room where you can do some excellent snooping or napping take your pick, sam woo's kitty corner for pork fried rice
mission farmer's market for eats
ideale on grant st. in north beach
belden place taverna....lots of nice little restaurants there belden place
that place on Bush St. on top of the stairs next to the market....Top of The Stairs or something like that. good bartenders, they poor a stiff drink
go down those stairs, mind the piss, some nice massage parlors for a pre-concert rubdown
Harris House of Prime Rib chinatown or House of Prime Rib on Van Ness
helmand palace russian hill....good eats

SF is a great walking town, you'll stumble into stuff no doubt, each neighbourhood with it's own groove. i forgot to mention the last couple of years they have had skating in union square, sometimes music, there is place where you can sit outside with a coffee, beer, or a cocktail and people watch if the weather is decent. see you at the show.

oh yeah forgot about the pinecrest for breakfast, also on Geary, you can sit at the counter & watch the crew work their magic. they do solid omelettes, huevos rancheros (not as spectacular as the Pork Store on Haight), and my personal favourite.....a straight up egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich. comes with side of hashbrowns. david's deli farther down on geary, good for lox and bagels

Your hotel is in the Fillmore district, near the Japantown mall. There are lots of places to eat in there. There is an Extreme Pizza on Post in that neighborhood that I've eaten at and it's really good. You can check Yelp for restaurants nearby, too. Here's last years discussion:
